FSG 59 Electrical and Electronic Equipment Components

The NSN is comprised of two parts, the first 4 digits that make up the Federal Supply Groups Code (FSGC) and the last 9 digits that make up the National Item Identification Number (NIIN). The FSGC is itself comprised of two parts, the first 2 digits that make up the Federal Supply Group (FSG) and the last 2 digits that make up the Federal Supply Code (FSC).

Federal Supply Group 59, Electrical and Electronic Equipment Components, is comprised of electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, circuit breakers, switches, semiconductors, microcircuits, cables, cords, headsets, microphones, and speakers. This FSG includes mounting hardware such as brackets, holders, and retainers specifically designed for use with electrical and electronic equipment, but does not include screws, bolts, studs, washers, and rivets.
